About

Kirstyn grew up in Paradise, Texas. A small town northwest of DFW about an hour. Growing up in the country with woods and the banks of the Trinity River to explore informs her art. Flora and fauna are the main focus of her work but she also explores the ethos of the cowboy/cowgirl.

For formal study, Kirstyn went to Abilene Christian University for an interdisciplinary art degree with a focus in 3D art. After college she has focused more on a 2D art practice, however. Kirstyn has taught public school art for 10 years at every grade level and also run The Wright House for 2 years, a small art center started by Will and Kirstyn in 2020 on the Decatur town square.

Outside of art making Kirstyn loves any kind of exploring; woods, trails, backroads, new cities, new states, new countries, museums, antique stores, abandoned houses, etc. Kirstyn would love nothing more than to live a nomadic life.
